ALO-Harmony rises in a golden pineapple, overflowing with metallic blooms—hibiscus, plumeria, orchids, and the bold bird of paradise. Each form, hand-shaped from discarded drinks cans and foil, mirrors Hawaiʻi’s fragile beauty. Yet beneath the shimmer lies a reminder: these islands, with their rare plants and deep-rooted traditions, face mounting threats from climate change, rising seas, and invasive species. In reimagining waste as wonder, ALOHA speaks to the urgency of care—for land, for ocean, for culture. In Hawaiʻi, aloha means love, respect, and harmony. This piece asks us to embody that spirit, to honour paradise before it fades. Reflecting balance with nature.
